Slum Dog Millionair brought the slums of India to the world stage. Long before the movie, Asha House has partnered with a pastor in one of the larger slums of Delhi. This man and his family live on the front lines of the battlefield every day. For 20 years he has lived, worked, and ministered with the people of the slums. In that time he has planted a growing church, he has been beaten along with his wife, daughters, and church members on multiple occasions, and he has seen the power of the Gospel transform people’s lives. He is one of the few pastors who is willing to live in the poorest of areas with few material possessions so that the people in the slums of Delhi will know about the Jesus who came to rescue them. He continues to plant the seeds of the Kingdom in the hearts of the children and their parents in these slums.
