Pinki has just passed her latest exam and will be going from 4th class into 5th class.  Pinky is the oldest girl among the children and she provides a great bit of help with caring for them.  She has very much become an older sister or what they call in Hindi  "Deedee".  She does very well in most subjects and is 6th rank in her class.  She does struggle in math though and appreciates all the prayers you can offer for her.  With a new class coming up she will need additional funds for more books and supplies.  Pinky truly is a wonderful girl and has a great future ahead of her.

Pinki: Age: 9 years old: Pinki is the oldest girl at Asha House and is very responsible. She enjoys looking after the younger ones, often taking the initiative to do so without being asked. Pinki is a leader, one who will teach the children, sing with them, help them with memory verses, and help them with their chores. The younger children look up to Pinki and respect her greatly. Pinki is in the 2nd class, but will be promoted to 4th class during the next school year. She excels in school and is very intelligent. Pinki is from a Christian family in Bihar, in a tribal village with no modern technology. There are no schools or hospitals in Bihar. Her father is deceased and her mother works as a servant in a Delhi household, where she is not allowed to have her children with her. Her mother visits when she can and usually tries to bring an outfit for Pinki if possible. Pinki has one younger sister who is not at Asha. Before coming to Asha, Pinki was at a different children’s home where she was not well cared for. Pinki is thankful to be at Asha!
