Age: 5 years old: When Bithka first came to Asha House, he was very quiet and reserved. Now he plays and laughs with the other children freely. He is very helpful around the orphanage; he loves to pick up trash and clean. Unfortunately, his learning disability makes learning difficult for Bithka and for this reason he does not like schoolwork. Bithka was born into a Hindu family in Bihar, in a tribal area with no modern technology. There are no hospitals or schools in Bihar. Both his mother and his father—who are still alive—are very sick. Bithka has stomach problems and is on doctor prescribed medication. He cannot eat as much food as the other children his age. Prayer Request: Please pray that Bithka will not catch the sickness of his parents. Asha House does not have the resources to take care of advanced illness.
